Baybay, Leyte Senior High School Evacuation Center

2nd OUTREACH, March 4, 2023

The second relief trip by the Bynum Faith Foundation and New Life Community Care Foundation to support Baybay, Leyte, marked encouraging progress. Reconnecting last March 4th, 2023, with over 700 individuals rebuilding their lives after Typhoon Megi’s destruction, our volunteers distributed essential supplies, such as rice, hygiene kits, candy for the kids, and slippers, to 307 families. 

The children delighted in football games with Minnesota Vikings player, and Bynum Faith Foundation’s founder, Camryn Bynum. Even organizing a movie night to allow the community some fun and enjoyment fostered human bonds, and we are able to ease suffering in a simple way. Each smile shared with these resilient people inspires our commitment to come alongside them with compassion.Though long-term recovery continues, our ongoing partnership provides care for Filipino communities affected by disasters. Staying connected long-term, rather than a one-time relief effort, can truly help this community heal. We remain dedicated to this meaningful work.
