Cebu Earthquake Relief Operations
October 19-20, 2025, Cebu
On September 30, 2025, at 21:59 Philippine time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 struck the Visayas archipelago in the Philippines. It was the strongest earthquake ever recorded in northern Cebu and the deadliest in the country since 2013. By October 19, 2025, at least 12,704 aftershocks were recorded, the strongest being a magnitude of 5.8.
On October 19-20, Bynum Faith Foundation partnered with New Life Community Care Foundation and two churches in Cebu to organize a relief operation as soon as roads were passable and the affected areas were reachable. Truck loads of relief bags, 5-gallon water jugs, and sacks of rice were transported to 3 evacuation areas that were not receiving any assistance from the government at that time.
