Alab ng Puso’ auction nears close, delivers relief to calamity victims.

With only a short window left to catch it, “Alab ng Puso “brings together more than 50 Filipino artists whose works turn anger, grief, and urgency into something concrete. What began as an outpouring of emotion — on canvas and in sculpture — has translated into real assistance for communities hit by recent natural disasters, showing how art can move beyond expression and into action.

Currently hosted by Art Lounge Manila at The Podium, the exhibit is much more than a showcase of poignant deviation from the artists’ usual oeuvre. It is a vital, time-sensitive fundraising mechanism. The unique works — direct expressions of rage, frustration, and hope for a better Philippines — are actively bringing support to communities that often feel beyond the reach of government aid.

The project is a collaboration between Galerie Francesca, Art Lounge Manila, and the Bynum Faith Foundation, founded by Fil-Am L player Camryn Bynum. While the artworks draw people in, the foundation ensures that proceeds move quickly and decisively on the ground. Every peso raised through sales is converted into aid, closing the distance between the gallery wall and real-world impact.

That impact is already visible. The Bynum Faith Foundation recently carried out relief operations in three hard-hit communities in Cebu affected by earthquakes and flooding. These efforts delivered essential aid and demonstrated the power of private sector and artistic collaboration.

This immediate action highlights the core mission of “Alab ng Puso” — to transform political dissent into effective humanitarian aid. Every purchase made by a patron or art aficionado directly fuels these relief efforts, closing the gap between critique and constructive contribution.

The exhibition stands as a historical moment, featuring a remarkable roster of artists who courageously bared their political conscience. The unique works — including paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces — offer patrons a chance to own a piece of history — a snapshot of a nation’s collective frustration and resilience — while simultaneously performing an act of deep charity.
Participating artists include Roel Obemio, Pete Jimenez, Michael Cacnio, Kublai Millan, Carlo Magno, Gerrico Blanco, Raul Isidro, Anton Del Castillo, Janos Delacruz, Fil Delacruz, Richard Buxani, Agi Pagkatipunan, Glenn Perez, Meneline Wong, MD, Iris Babao-Uy, Sam Penaso, Isobel Francisco, Isaiah Cacnio, and many others.
Alab ng Puso runs at Art Lounge Manila at The Podium until December 17, with the silent auction for the artworks closing on Monday, December 15 at 6 p.m. The exhibition is presented in partnership with GF Emporium and The Podium.
Art lovers and socially conscious patrons still have time to engage with the works and place their bids — participating in an effort that transforms outrage into relief, and expression into meaningful support.
